Neighbours have been left frustrated by speeding drivers who are 'taking noise to a new level' on a £49m Nottinghamshire road. The 3.8km single carriageway Colliery Way links the A612 Trent Valley Road and Nottingham Road to Mapperley Plains and was opened earlier this year after decades of planning.

"People don't stick to the speed limit on the road. I use it quite a bit, but at 30mph you have people tailgating you." A resident of Clementine Drive, who did not want to be named, said: "They do speed up there, but to be honest I think I notice more because I look down on to it.
