Around 9,000 people took part in the race
The Liverpool Half Marathon was back once again for 2024.Half Marathon and around 9,000 runners descended to pound their way on the city's streets. The race was held today, Sunday, March 17 - St Patrick’s Day.
An impressive 8,400 are signed up for the half marathon, with a further 600 taking on the 10-mile race. The 13.1-mile route took runners through the city and onto Sefton Park, taking in sights along the way including Royal Albert Dock Liverpool, Liverpool Cathedral, and Museum Of Liverpool. They then returned to Pier Head for a grandstand finish line under the gaze of the city’s iconic Liver Birds.

St Patrick's Day Celebrations and Liverpool Half MarathonSt Patrick's Day celebrations and the Liverpool Half Marathon will take place across the city centre on Sunday. The 13.1-mile BTR Liverpool Half Marathon event will start at 9am on Sunday, March 17 from the Pier Head. This also includes the 9th annual BTR Liverpool 10 Mile Road Race, which starts at the same time. Runners will pass through Princes Park and Sefton Park, and along the Promenade, before passing the rear of the Albert Dock in the final mile. As with any big running event, there will be road closures along the route. However, from the eight mile mark at Aigburth Drive, all runners will be off the public highway.
