The chief executive of SPT has said the company is 'committed to longer hours' and late services could be introduced once the current night-time testing is complete.

The boss of Glasgow Subway has vowed to introduce later services on Sundays following outcry from the public.

Valerie Davidson, chief executive of the Strathclyde Partnership for Transport , fielded questions about this during a fringe event at the SNP conference in Aberdeen. Questions were raised about why the late-night Sunday service can be offered sometimes but not for the majority of the year, reports the Scottish Daily Express.

Ms Davidson was asked if there was any timescale on the change but was unable to offer one. A new rolling stock of Subways has been purchased for the ageing system and are expected to enter service after modernisation is complete.
