Merseyside Police were called in to assist Devon and Cornwall officers in taking down armed drug dealing crews

A specialist detachment of more than 100 officers were sent to help deal with the ruthless Merseyside led crime gangs running the drugs trade in Devon.

“This is Merseyside’s fourth deployment to the area to target county lines drug dealing and shows our ongoing commitment to work across borders to relentlessly pursue those involved in the supply of drugs and exploitation. Devon & Cornwall Police Detective Inspector Kev Morley said: “We have achieved some significant disruptions through our proactive work over the last couple of days which has included removing drugs and weapons from the streets of our city.

Head of Proactive Investigation, Detective Superintendent Jon Bancroft said: “Drugs suppliers deliberately target and exploit some of the most vulnerable people in Devon and Cornwall. We have zero tolerance for this and any illegal behaviours associated with these types of crimes.
