The opener at Hampden has been disputed by the raging Perth men
SFA bosses are set to comb through the recording of Matthew MacDermid’s Hampden tape after St Johnstone demanded an explanation for Cyriel Dessers ’ disputed opener on Saturday.
But Saints are sticking to their guns and now want access to VAR’s audio recording. Record Sport understands they now expect to be given the chance to listen in to the full chain of events in a bid to piece together exactly what happened. The Welshman claims he and his team-mates heard two blasts from MacDermid, one after Dessers’ coming-together with Sanders and another once the striker slotted home his strike.
“Did he blow twice? That’s what we thought. We had a little discussion in the dressing room and that’s what it felt like. He spoke to the captain and the captain said he heard a whistle too. “We tried to speak to the linesman too but they don’t want to talk to you. I don’t know what was going on so it’s just frustrating.
