Liverpool's St Patrick's Day parade will begin at the former Irish Centre on Mount Pleasant
It's St Patrick's Day this weekend, and to celebrate a parade will take place in Liverpool city centre.
On Sunday, March 17, Liverpool's eighth annual St Patrick's Day parade will take place. It's held on this date as it's believed to be the traditional death date of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. Across the country it's becoming a bigger occasion every year, and in Liverpool bars, clubs and pubs will get involved. Those taking part have been asked to gather outside the former Irish Centre, on Mount Pleasant, at around 12.30pm. The parade will then move off at 1pm. The parade route will then go from Great Orford Street to Hope Street, Upper Duke Street, Berry Street, Renshaw Street, Ranelagh Street and end on Hanover Street.
It will end outside the Tonight Josephine Bar on Hanover Street, where an after party has been organised. The bar will host singers and musicians such as Doc McCloskey, Double D Irish Band, Skylarks and Feadog. Tickets are priced at £10 which guarantees you a seat at the event, which will be on until 12.30am.
