A scene is in place on Francis Street in Chapeltown as the police investigate
West Yorkshire Police received a report of a man being assaulted on Francis Street, Chapeltown , at 12.52am this morning. Officers attended the scene of the attack and found the man with serious injuries. Read More: 20 people West Yorkshire Police urgently want to speak to
He now remains in hospital with his injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening. A cordon remains in place as the police investigate.West Yorkshire Police said: "At 12.52am this morning, police received a report of a man having been assaulted and seriously injured in Francis Street, Chapeltown.
Initial enquiries indicated he had been struck over the head with an object and stabbed in the abdomen following an altercation with the occupants of a car at the junction with Francis Court.
