Dozens of staff at Braehead ’s TGI Friday’s store have won a reprieve from redundancy as it’s confirmed the restaurant is one of 51 to remain open.
TGI Friday’s initially said that more branches may still be saved depending on discussions with landlords but the administrators, Teneo, later said 35 restaurants had been closed “immediately” with 1,012 associated redundancies. There is also a dedicated St Mirren section that will follow every kick of the ball with the Buddies.TGI Friday’s traces its roots to a New York restaurant that opened in 1965 with the slogan, “In here, it’s always Friday”.
