Staffordshire University has said it hopes a new student village can revitalise its Stoke-on-Trent campus.
The student village would be linked to the rest of the campus by a new bridge, said the universityPlans have been unveiled for a new student village in Stoke-on-Trent.
Staffordshire University said it planned to replace existing student accommodation on its main Leek Road campus, turning it into accessible parkland.Work could begin in 2024 and be completed in 2026, if plans were approved, said the university.A village hub is proposed as part of the multi-million pound scheme, which would include an events and wellbeing space.The new development would be linked to the wider Leek Road campus by a pedestrian bridge and boardwalk.
"The proposed Staffordshire University Student Village is an exciting opportunity to create a vibrant student community offering new ways of living and studying on campus by blending contemporary sustainable architecture with high quality facilities."
