Is this a reflection of Lincoln's views? The Labour MP candidate disagrees
Lincoln’s current MP, Karl McCartney, embarrassed the city on Monday. Boris Johnson was found, by a vote of the whole House of Commons, to have knowingly lied to Parliament and the public about his lockdown parties. Only seven MPs in the whole country voted for Johnson to face no punishment, and McCartney was one of them.
Each week I speak to a lot of people in Lincoln, and if the Conservatives think that people have forgotten the sacrifices they made during that hard period, or that they are uninterested in how politicians behaved then, they are plain wrong. The man that McCartney went out of his way to defend yesterday has added insult to injury by giving two people who were at those parties honours, and asking the late Queen’s son, King Charles to approve the appointments.
