The Labour Party leader will address the conference on Tuesday
The Labour leader will deliver the headline speech of his party's conference at ACC Liverpool's main stage at 2pm on Tuesday . He will make the case for Labour to form the next government and will state that his priorities will be providing economic growth, safer streets, cheaper homegrown British power, better opportunities, as well as rejuvenating the NHS.
Like his Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves did in her keynote speech on Monday , Sir Keir will declare Labour's intentions to fight the election on the economy and growth. Sir Keir will tell the conference that his operation is “a changed Labour Party, no longer in thrall to gesture politics, no longer a party of protest".The speech will also focus on the ongoing cost of living crisis, about which Sir Keir will say that “we should never forget that politics should tread lightly on peoples’ lives, that our job is to shoulder the burden for working people - carry the load, not add to it.
“It boils down to this: can we look the challenges of this age squarely in the eye and amidst all the change and insecurity find the hunger to win new opportunities and the strength to conserve what is precious.”
