Listed at 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds, Hemming joins a strong Finnish contingent in the organization behind Stars center Roope Hintz and defensemen Miro Heiskanen and Esa Lindell. Additionally, Jani Hakanpää, a defenseman from Finland for the Stars, is an unrestricted free agent.. Twelve of this year’s playoff participants were drafted by Dallas while eight out of the 12 athletes were selected from the 2017 draft or later.
Swiss defenseman Lian Bichsel, the No. 18 pick in 2022, predominantly played for Rögle BK in the Swedish Hockey League this past season, opting to take advantage of the European assignment clause in his contract. However, he returned to Cedar Park for the playoffs and was later summoned to Dallas following Texas’ elimination from the Calder Cup.
