13News meteorologist Matt Standridge previews a big warm-up that's expected to hit central Indiana by the end of the week.
After a cool start Monday with no humidity, south winds will return the rest of the week bringing high heat and humidity for the foreseeable future.INDIANA, USA — Summer is roughly 10 days away and counting, and the weather will be ready for it. After a quick cool down for the start of the week, southerly winds will return to Indiana helping to spike the heat and humidity over the coming days.Enjoy the brief cool down Indiana will get for Monday and Tuesday. Highs should remain in the 70s.
The humidity will also go up, especially starting Thursday. Then expect hot and humid weather through the weekend and for the start of next week.As an upper-level low pushes out east into the Atlantic, warmer air is likely for much of the country. Highs across the Great Lakes will remain 10-15 degrees above normal by Father's Day Weekend.
Many Hoosiers will stay dry all week long. There is one quick catch. On Friday a weak front will slide south across the Great Lakes to try to break up the heat. However it may only clip Indiana. Temperatures may go down a couple degrees for a day with a few pop-up showers or storms.After Father's Day weekend we are watching for a weather pattern change. Some tropical moisture may combine with a front across the central U.S. bringing rain and storm chances eventually to Indiana.
