Moscow has said the US drone downing is a “provocation” by the American military, heightening concerns Russia will leverage the incident to dramatically escalate the war in Ukraine.
The Russian diplomat was summoned to the US State Department as a result of the event, where an unmanned US drone was downed while conducting a mission in international waters.
