Latest Nottingham Forest news as Reds linked with Fluminense defender ahead of January transfer window
January may still be several weeks away, but Nottingham Forest will already have their eye on an important transfer window.
Nino had caught the eye of Fluminense and initially made the move on loan in 2019 before the switch became permanent. Since then, he has become a key player for the Brazilian outfit as captain and has added some silverware to his collection. The Reds are said to be prepared to shell out about £6 million to pay the defender’s termination fee and secure his signature. Globo have said Nino is “destined” to link up with Cooper’s squad and has rejected better financial offers to sign for Forest.
It has been suggested Nino is keen to play in Europe. And with that in mind, ESPN have reported “other possibilities” are still being considered for the defender, aside from Forest. They have stated a deal is “not yet closed”. You can buy Women's Football News from participating retailers or can order it for home delivery from our online store here.
Before the match, he said: “I found out this morning. It's not something I want to talk about at the moment because nothing other than tomorrow's final interests me.”
