Experienced former Crusaders boss Stephen Baxter takes replaces Stuart King at Taylors Avenue

The 59-year-old, who called time on his successful 19-year reign at Crusaders at the end of last season, has agreed a three-year-deal to take over from Stuart King at Taylors Avenue.

“First of all, I am delighted to be here. Carrick Rangers has great ambition for the future and having met with officials from the Club and hearing their plans it proved to be a very easy decision for me," he said. After losing eight league games on the bounce and being dumped out of the BetMcLean Cup to Queen's, Carrick got back to winning ways on Saturday with a 2-0 victory over Cliftonville.

Chairman Peter Clarke is delighted to have brought a manager with the record of Baxter to the club and he believes he can deliver success for Carrick moving forward.
