The singer on her love of Scotland and taking a break from the group as she stars in musical 42nd in Glasgow next week.
There's been plenty of Steps since their first Scots gig at a roller-skating disco but Faye Tozer claims Scotland’s always been No1 for them.
But the Northampton-born singer, who lives with her husband Michael Smith and their son Benjamin, 14, in Boldon, South Tyneside, revealed her love of Scotland isn’t confined to the stage. “It is always overwhelming when we do our live performances because you can see the joy in the room, and it brings us so much joy as well. It is such a lift and such an honour to still be around.”She said: “We will be very excited to make new music at some point. We are just having a hiatus because we need that personally – we have done four albums in the last five years which is a lot.
Faye, who plays Maggie Jones, said: “As Steps we were well known for our dance routines but dance for me has always been such a hugely special thing in my life because I just feel so joyful when I dance.“To be part of 42nd Street which is all to do with dance and tap is like my childhood self’s dream.
