The Tartan Army have descended upon Seville and are hoping to spark a qualification party.
Bullish Scotland boss Steve Clarke arrived here in Seville and then challenged his players to grab the point that will stun Europe and take them to Germany 2024.
Clarke could conceivably be left sweating into Sunday night when Luis de la Fuente takes his all-stars to Oslo knowing any other than a Norway win would seal the deal. But the manager insists Scotland have no need to rely on others to do them favours after rattling up five straight wins in the first five games of the campaign. He said: “We speak about it as a squad, doing it ourselves in this moment.
“I would be nice to have a celebration on the pitch, but it would also be nice to do that sitting watching it as a group in the hotel if that is what happens. We will be watching the game, the same as Holland against France on Friday. There is a scenario whereby Spain win tonight and follow that result up with defeat in Norway and all three teams could be neck and neck all the way to the finish line in November.
