Scotland will continue to take on friendlies against the big boys in preparation for Euro 2024

Scotland boss Steve Clarke has insisted he won’t put his own CV ahead of the development of his side as they head towards Germany 2024.

Clarke said: “We are on a losing run. But we have to recognise the quality of the opposition. If I want to protect my stats and my win percentage then I can pick easier friendlies but if I think if I pick easier friendlies then we won’t learn anything. “That is the reason why I played people in certain positions against France - to have a look, to see how strong the depth of the squad is. I keep talking about the squad. It is important we understand what the depth of the squad is, and how good the depth of the squad is, and whether we can improve it between now and next summer.”
