McClaren holds the second shortest tenure of any England manager after Sam Allardyce.
He joined FC Twente in the Netherlands in 2008, where he would win the Dutch league title with the side two years later.
McClaren then joined the German side Wolfsburg where he was sacked after less than a year in charge in February 2011. He then joined Nottingham Forest but chose to resign after winning only eight points in his first ten league games. McClaren then returned to FC Twente in 2012 but resigned after little more than a year following growing criticism from fans.
In the years that followed he was had stints at Derby County and Newcastle United, with both tenures resulting in sackings, before he joined QPR.
