Steve Wright's Radio 2 replacement has been confirmed after his unexpected death in February. The beloved radio presenter was found dead at his home aged 69.
After the news was made public, Michael said in a statement: “Steve made Love Songs ‘appointment to listen’ radio. I’m beyond excited and more than a little nervous to be tasked with the chance to continue with his extraordinary legacy. A further change is coming for Radio 2, as it was announced that Paddy McGuinness will host a new Sunday show from 11am-1pm from June after Michael's move. Nicky Chapman had been presenting the Love Songs show after the sudden death of Steve Wright.
