Despite a brushing election defeat, former premier Steven Miles has retained his spot at the head of the Labor Party, elected as the new opposition leader.
"It's not often after a defeat you're welcoming new members to the caucus and so we're very pleased to have you with us," Miles said to the new MPs. "I think the truth of the matter is that in many parts of regional Queensland, we have lost the trust of Queenslanders," deputy opposition leader Cameron Dick said.
