Sting has been forced to cancel upcoming concerts and awards show appearances after falling ill. The 73-year-old singer was due to perform at two US gigs in California and Arizona and was scheduled to receive a lifetime achievement award at the Bass Magazine Awards. The cancellations come on the advice of Sting's doctor, and he has apologized for any inconvenience caused.

’ Fans were advised to keep their tickets for these shows, as they ‘will be honoured on the new dates’ so nobody misses out. The statement added: ‘Sting sincerely apologises for any inconvenience and extends his gratitude to the fans for their understanding.’ Sting is also due to perform at the LA wildfire benefit concert FireAid later this month but it’s likely this will now depend on his recovery. He has a string of UK dates later this year on the Sting 3.
