Stockport County coach Andy Mangan has reportedly been denied a remarkable move to Real Madrid to join Carlo Ancelotti, according to reports. The ex-professional footballer was poised to make the switch and work alongside superstars such as Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe.
The former forward earned his UEFA Pro License alongside Ancelotti's son, Davide, under the Welsh Football Association. It was proposed that Mangan would follow the legendary Italian's son if he embarked on his managerial career. Having honed his skills with Accrington Stanley, Bury FC, and Shrewsbury Town, Liverpool-born Mangan eventually came home to join Tranmere Rovers. His tenure at the Birkenhead outfit saw him experience promotion glory back into the Football League in 2018 under Micky Mellon, although he didn't feature in the Wembley playoff final, reports the Liverpool Echo.
He added his aspirations for the role: "I have spoken of it previously if I were to get this job I would be a very proud man and my family would be very proud as well. We are building something really special here in my opinion but let's see what happens."
