On Monday evening, my husband stopped off at a friend’s house after picking our kids up from daycare on his e-bike . In a momentary lapse of caution, he left the bike unlocked in front of our friends’ house in Brentwood for about 15 minutes while he brought the kids inside to say hi to their friends. By the time he came back out, the bike was gone.
He texted me right away so I ran out to our car and drove around to see if I could find the thief and sure enough, I caught up to a skinny black guy in an orange tee, camo ski mask, and blue shades riding my husband’s e-bike towards Langdon. I pulled up next to him and screamed at him to get the eff off the bike but he just looked at me and said, “I don’t know what you’re talking about” and biked off before I could turn around and I lost him.
We are basically resigned at this point that the bike is gone—however, was hoping if anyone sees a bike like that around, or especially a guy trying to sell a bike like that, would really appreciate any tips. FYI the batteries are locked onto the bike, and he did not get away with the keys, so I presumably that would be an indicator it may be our bike.
