Spencer Alan Boston, 20, was escorted out of a courtroom for lighting a joint at the podium. He reportedly advocated for the legalization of marijuana during his brief time at the stand. Spencer Alan Boston, 20, appeared in court Monday on a simple possession-of-marijuana citation in Lebanon, Tennessee.
Instead of entering a plea or listening to Judge Haywood Barry, Boston began lecturing court on the legalization of marijuana – then he reached into his pocket to accentuate his point. Video from the courtroom captured the moment Boston took out what appears to be a joint. He then lights it and takes a couple puffs.
No one initially seems to react to Boston as he smokes at the podium, but after a few moments security intervenes and hauls him out of the courtroom through a cloud of smoke.
