Britain is preparing for Storm Darragh, a powerful storm expected to bring 80mph winds and 70mm of rain from tomorrow afternoon until Sunday. The storm is the fourth to be named this season, and it will bring consecutive days of severe weather, including travel disruption and potential flooding.
Storm Darragh was officially named by the Met Office today as Britain prepares for powerful winds and heavy rain fall from tomorrow afternoon until Sunday. The UK will experience four consecutive days of severe weather , with 60 flood alerts already activated. A yellow warning for up to 30mm of rain in the North West and another for 70mph gusts across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland have been issued for today.
A third yellow warning for 80mph gusts and 70mm of rain for the whole of England and Wales will come into effect from 3pm tomorrow to 6am on Sunday. An amber 'danger to life' warning for damaging winds has been issued for Northern Ireland and the western coast of Britain on Saturday. This storm is the fourth named storm of the season and is expected to cause travel disruption and potential flooding
