A roof ripped off a building during Storm Eowyn has been discovered on a railway line in Glasgow, Scotland, disrupting train services. Network Rail Scotland's helicopter crews spotted the roof on the track at the entrance to a tunnel leading to Glasgow Queen Street High Level station. Trains to and from the station are currently suspended until the roof is safely removed.
The errant roof was spotted by helicopter crews sent up by Network Rail Scotland to survey damage following the high winds brought by Storm Éowyn on Friday . The helicopter surveyed routes on Saturday morning, discovering the roof at the entrance to a tunnel to Glasgow Queen Street High Level.
Air Ops are aiding ground crews to check routes including Edinburgh to Glasgow Queen Street, Hyndland to Helensburgh, and the Cathcart Circle. ScotRail previously said all of its services across Scotland would remain suspended until midday on today at the earliest. Meteorologist Tom Morgan said: “The winds have still been strong nonetheless overnight, so it’s definitely not the calm after the storm today.
