Stormont officials have said "preliminary work" has been carried out on proposals to add the word 'Derry' to road signs alongside 'Londonderry'.

DUP MLA Brian Kingston hit out at Sinn Féin-banded Irish-language signs advising drivers to slow down, saying they were "intimidatory" to unionists.
