Emergency alerts have been issued for Jandowae Creek in the Western Downs and South Burnett, with a major flood warning for the Logan River at Beaudesert.
The State Emergency Service has received about 140 calls for help since yesterday, mostly in Brisbane and Moreton Bay .
A Watch and Act alert was issued earlier this morning for Jandowae Creek in the Western Downs, with residents in low-lying areas urged to leave.Flash flooding cut off the D'Aguilar Highway and Western Highway between Kingaroy and Cooyar in the South Burnett on Wednesday. The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a major flood warning for the Logan River at Beaudesert, where levels are 8.17 metres and rising.
The river is expected to peak this morning. Minor flooding is possible at Maclean Bridge in the afternoon.He said although the local dam is spilling, conditions are expected to ease today."Our community is aware, and we will wait and see what unfolds during the day, but the forecasts are very favourable."A reprieve is forecast for the south-east today after the region was pummelled by heavy rains.
In Moreton Bay on Wednesday, 88 millimetres was recorded in an hour at Kobble Creek and Moodlu got 67mm.
