Gordon Strachan revealed that he ended up in the boot of a car after a night on the tiles with Manchester United team-mates Gordon McQueen and Brian Robson
Gordon Strachan has recalled ending up in the boot of a car the night he arrived at Manchester United, after a 'horrendous' night out with teammates Bryan Robson and Gordon McQueen.
Speaking of his first night at the club, he explained how a night out with team-mates Robson and McQueen ended comically. He said: "Soon as I got to the club, he came and picked me up - him and Gordon McQueen. They took me for a night out which was horrendous - I came back in the boot of the car. "And I burned my backside that night I was that drunk. You know these iron bars in your bathroom? I fell on that and burned my backside - I had a whole scar right up my backside. So that was going out with McQueen and Bryan Robson."
Elsewhere in the podcast, Strachan also spoke about some of the best players he had shared the pitch with - when an incident with Gary McAllister at Leeds United cropped up. When asked if he would invite McAllister along to a dinner party, Strachan replied: "As long as he didn't have a drink.
