The Forbidden Corner is a unique labyrinth of tunnels, chambers, follies and surprises

Less than three hours from Nottingham is an unusual tourist destination, deemed to be "the strangest place in the world". Whilst many of us might choose a trip to Sherwood Forest or Clumber Park for a day out, if you are willing to travel the distance, there is a mysterious location not too far away.

, based at Tupgill Park near the Yorkshire Dales. It is a destination like no other and is perfect for anyone who loves adventure and exploring the unknown. As well as the popular maze, there are also talking statues, secret doors, stepping stones and, according to some reviews, there are even sprinklers with motion detectors. If you have kids that love history, make sure to watch out for the giants and dragons.

One of the top things to see at the site is the temple of the underworld, as well as a huge pyramid made of translucent glass and the eye of the needle. Visitors must book in advance as there are only so many people allowed in at a time, but it really is a day out like no other that will be fun and challenging for children and adults of all ages.

The site has around 3,400 reviews on Trip Advisor and an average rating of 4.5 out of five, but more than 2,500 of these reviews are five stars.
