The MAG and HEATMAG streamline magnetic bead purification in a broad range of molecular and proteomics workflows.
INTEGRA Biosciences created the MAG and HEATMAG modules with scientists in mind. These state-of-the-art methods simplify the purification of magnetic beads in various proteomics and molecular processes. The strong magnets guarantee quick bead collection with little loss or carryover, and their height may be adjusted to match volume needs for consistently good results.
The MAG and HEATMAG modules provide unprecedented versatility. Depending on the needs, they can be seamlessly linked with pipetting platforms for semi- or completely automated workflows or used as standalone units for manual processing. Combining them with the VIAFLO 96, MINI 96, or VIAFLO 384 pipetting platforms allows users to process 96 or 384 well plates or 24 tubes at the same time, considerably increasing productivity.
Users can select from various preset heights when used manually, or the ASSIST PLUS pipetting robot provides full workflow automation.HEATMAG combines magnets and heating in one device, allowing for processes at temperatures up to 65 °C. This special property is vital for operations like lysis and elution.
Some extraction techniques, such as lysis and elution, require increased temperatures; the HEATMAG module’s heating element, combined with the 1.5 ml tube adapter, is perfect for nucleic acid extractions.Magnetic beads’ surfaces can also be functionalized with specific ligands, such as antibodies for immunoprecipitation, for application in protein analysis. These ligands are chosen based on their high affinity for the target proteins of interest.
