A teacher who was overheard shouting at pupils and describing one as 'an attention seeker with a transgender identity crisis' has been allowed to continue in the profession.

A Lanarkshire secondary school teacher who shouted at pupils and told one child "I am not here to wipe your a***" has been allowed to stay in the profession.

She accepted that she would "occasionally raise her voice in order to take control but would not use the words attributed to her".

The three allegations were found proved by the General Teaching Council who described her conduct as "inappropriate and unacceptable in the context of the situation which unfolded".
