The BBC is yet to officially announce the new Strictly Come Dancing professionals and presenters, but Shirley Ballas has teased some changes
Shirley Ballas appears to have revealed how many new professional dancers will join Strictly Come Dancing this year, after several departures from the show. The BBC recently announced that the head judge, alongside Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke, would all return to the judging panel for the programme's 24th series on BBC One, due to begin in autumn, with the professional dancer line-up also disclosed.
Returning from the 2025 series are Alexis Warr, Amy Dowden, Aljaz Skorjanec, Dianne Buswell, Johannes Radebe, Jowita Przystal, Julian Caillon, Kai Widdrington, Katya Jones. As well as Lauren Oakley, Nancy Xu, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Vito Coppola, and Carlos Gu, who won last year's series with former England footballer Karen Carney.
The broadcaster also confirmed that fresh professionals would be brought in and unveiled nearer to the show's autumn return, following the recent exits of Gorka Marquez, Michelle Tsiakkas, Karen Hauer, Nadiya Bychkova and Luba Mushtuk from Strictly in recent weeks. During Tuesday's Good Morning Britain, Shirley hinted at knowing the identity of Tess and Claudia's replacements, as when host Ed Balls enquired whether she knew the next presenting partnership. The 65-year-old responded: "Well, kind of, yes, maybe.
" Discussing the incoming presenters, she revealed: "Whoever comes onto this show is going to be amazing in their own right. "Any presenter who comes on, it's got to be natural, there's got to be chemistry, not only with the judges but with the celebrities. I think you're going to be really excited about who's coming on.
" The Queen of Latin also hinted that the 2026 series - kicking off in September - will be "the series of all series". Shirley, who floated the idea of five fresh professional dancers joining the line-up, continued: "There are so many little tweaks and turns, and things going on "I want people to be hyped and excited about what's going on with Strictly Come Dancing. You are not going to be disappointed, that's for sure.
" It comes as earlier in the show, Josh Widdicombe has addressed Strictly Come Dancing hosting rumours. The Last Leg star, 43, is rumoured to have landed the presenting alongside Emma Willis. At the time, Susanna asked: Would you love to do it? ” Josh revealed: “I would love to do it, of course.
I would love to do it but I think we'd all love to do it. ” Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1 and ITVX
