Strictly Come Dancing professionals Katya Jones and Wynne Evans have issued an apology after a series of awkward on-air moments sparked fan speculation. During Saturday night's live show, viewers noticed Katya refusing to high-five Wynne and swiftly moving her hand away when he touched her waist.

However, it was the moments that followed Katya and Wynne's dance that caught the attention of fans. After Sam Quek and Nikita Kuzmin's performance, they joined the rest of their cast to speak to Claudia Winkleman, but after they ran up the stairs, Wynne attempted to high-five Katya. The encounter didn't go unnoticed by fans who took to X, formerly Twitter, as one wrote: "Why did she look so annoyed with him lol." A second said: "Ooooooh she doesn’t look very happy," while another asked: "What's going on here."
After the clips went viral on social media, Katya and Wynne issued an apology in an Instagram video. Katya began with: "Hello everybody it's Wynne and Katya here. We just wanted to say we were just messing around in the Clauditorium on Saturday night and just want to say sorry.""It was a silly joke," Wynne confessed, quickly followed by an apology: "Yes, sorry".
