The BBC ballroom dancing show returned for its second week on Saturday night, as 15 celebrities and their partners compete for the Glitterball trophy
Strictly Come Dancing fans were left shaking their heads as Shirley Ballas kicked off the live show with an 'awkward gaffe'.
Immediately noticing the cringe-inducing moment, one fan tweeted: “Yoohoo! Wake up Shirley." A second wrote: “Shirley not sure where she is there," as another said: "Well that wasn’t awkward." The contestants' scores from last week have been carried over to this weekend and will be combined with the viewers' votes, with the lowest scoring couples going head to head in the first dance off of 2022. The first results show of the series starts on Sunday 2 October at 7.15pm, beginning after the Antiques Roadshow.
