EXCLUSIVE: Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are reportedly feeling the 'pressure' as Strictly gears up for its 20th anniversary - but are confident it could be best series ever
After 20 years on screen, 2024 marks a huge milestone for BBC's Strictly Come Dancing but with ongoing controversies causing a nightmare, long-standing hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are said to be feeling the pressure.
As a result of the two incidents, Strictly bosses have announced new measures to protect future stars taking part in the competition, including a production team member in rehearsal rooms at all times and increased welfare support. "They're both seen as a safe pair of hands on Strictly, but when there's been so much going on, that's not an easy thing to handle."
Our source claimed: "Claudia has a lot of things going on outside of Strictly, like The Traitors. She won a BAFTA for that last year which proved just how good she is at what she does. She’s a really in-demand presenter and her appeal just keeps growing. In the lead up to the show's return, however, both TV presenters have stayed relatively quiet on social media about the headlines. Claudia shared no words but she did post a string of hearts beneath the picture of the Strictly pros at their first rehearsals. Tess notably didn't comment but her husband Vernon Kay voiced his support for the show. He wrote, alongside a fire emoji: "Yes Team!!!!".
"This being the show's 20th anniversary it's a tall order. But both are confident they can hold the viewers and make this the best series ever."
