Chris McCausland made history on Saturday night when he became the first blind contestant to win Strictly Come Dancing, and now he's opened up on his daughter's reaction to his win
Strictly Come Dancing winner Chris McCausland has revealed his daughter’s adorable reaction to his journey on the show and his incredible win. In his first TV interview, since lifting the famous Glitterball trophy this weekend, Chris joined Ranvir Singh on Lorraine to discuss how his 11 year-old daughter reacted to his journey. The much loved funnyman, 47, joked that his 11-year-old girl Sophie “threw things at the telly when Craig was on.
He also told The Telegraph that Sophie can't wait to get her hands on the famous trophy, saying: “She was more interested in when the trophy was coming home than when I was.” The pair triumphed over tough competition from three other couples in what fans have hailed as one of the greatest Strictly finals of all time - including Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola, Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec, and JB Gill and Lauren Oakley. While Chris finished bottom of the leaderboard, he secured the public vote as hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman revealed him as this year's champion.
"She's one of the easiest people to be funny with. This is for her and everyone who got told they could not do anything. It shows anything can happen, you know?"
