Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Dianne Buswell has opened up about the ongoing scandal surrounding the show, as it approaches its 20th anniversary.
When asked about the legacy of the hit BBC One show, following Graziano Di Prima and Giovanni Pernice's exits, Dianne said: “I love strictly and we all love it. Every time you step on the dance floor - you can’t help but smile and every time people come and watch the show, they love it, including the people at home.
Graziano Di Prima was axed from the show last month - before he admitting to ‘kicking’ former celebrity partner Zara McDermott during rehearsals. At the time of his axing, Graziano said he regrets the events that led to his departure from the show. "My intense passion and determination to win might have affected my training regime," he said in an Instagram statement.
Giovanni Pernice will also not be returning for the show’s 20th year on screen, after claims of “abusive and threatening behaviour” from former dance partner, Sherlock actor Amanda Abbington. In January, it was reported that the actress had requested to view footage from what was described as 'tense' rehearsal sessions, sparking an inquiry into misconduct. Giovanni has strongly denied any wrongdoing.
