Strictly Come Dancing star Johannes Radebe has spoken of the moment he was reunited with a bully who made his school life hell. The talented dancer is a huge hit with fans of the BBC One dance contest and will be back on screens soon when the 21st series begins.
On Saturday , Johannes appeared on Radio 4's Saturday Live where he discussed the bullying he faced and his trip back to Zamdela. "The thing is about it [the bullying], writing this book has also made me realise a lot about my childhood. That the only two places I felt safe were at home and dance practice and that's the two places where my world revolved around.
"High school especially was terrible," Johannes said before sharing how he had his head put down the loo at school. "I'd avoid going to the boys' bathroom because of the bullying. One day when they dunked my head in the toilet pot, that was the last day. When asked if he'd ever had any contact with the boys at school who bullied him, Johannes replied: "I have. I met Malcolm who was one of the bullies when I went home which was like five weeks ago before I started Strictly. I felt sorry for him because I realise now that it was him. It was his insecurities. He's the one that had a problem, not me.
