Strictly Come Dancing host Tess Daly, who has been a part of the show for 20 years, aired her thoughts on the future of the show with a six-word statement in a resurfaced interview
This year's Strictly Come Dancing has been dazzling us with showstopping performances, from Tasha Ghouri securing her first 10 from her Charleston in week four to Jamie Borthwick topping the leaderboard with the Paso Doble. But while the competition has been heating up from this year's celebrities, host Tess Daly once revealed her fears for the hit BBC show.
But in a resurfaced interview, Tess aired her thoughts on the future of the show when it comes down to its celebrity contestants and suggested it's only a matter of time before the worst happens. Back in 2013, the TV host revealed to the Radio Times: "We never thought Strictly would last this long and I don’t want it to ever end".
More than 10 years since the interview, Tess is still hosting Strictly and has been joined by Claudia Winkleman since 2014, following the departure of show legend Sir Bruce Forsyth. However many fans won't remember that Tess had brief hiatus in series two, when she took a break to give birth to her daughter, Phoebe, now 19-years-old.
She then returned in series two to join Bruce Forsyth in presenting the show for the first few weeks while Tess was on maternity leave. Nowadays Tess and her husband, radio and TV presenter Vernon Kay, aren't seen with their children too often.
