With 100 days to go, some people are already dreaming of a White Christmas
The early outlook from bookmaker William Hill suggests there’s a strong chance of snow hitting the UK on Christmas Day this year. 100 days out from Christmas Day this Saturday, the betting firm make it just 2/1 for the white stuff to fall on December 25 in Scotland, with Leeds holding a leading chance of a White Christmas in England.
London is priced at 11/1 to see snowfall on Christmas Day, while Surrey’s Gatwick Airport is 20/1. Elsewhere on William Hill’s list of early Christmas specials are LadBaby at even-money to record another festive chart-topper and King Charles III’s TV address long odds-on at 1/6 to be the most watched Christmas Day show.
William Hill spokesperson, Lee Phelps, said: “Before you know it the supermarkets are stacked high with mince pies and everyone is wondering whether we’ll have a White Christmas. The early betting makes Edinburgh and Glasgow the leading spots to see snow this year at just 2/1, while anyone who fancies a White Christmas in the capital, London, can take 11/1.
“Of all the markets relating to Christmas released today, the most hotly tipped one has to be King Charles III to reign supreme on Christmas Day, with the royal broadcast looking nailed-on at 1/6 to draw in the day’s highest peak viewership.”
