The Elmore County public school district says an incident at Wetumpka High School has landed 11 students in trouble.
WETUMPKA, Ala. - The seniors accused of vandalizing Wetumpka High School as a senior prank will not be allowed to participate in “senior activities” as punishment, according to Elmore County Public Schools Superintendent Richard Dennis.
“Senior pranks of this nature are inappropriate and destructive and may limit participation in school activities,” Dennis said in a statement shortly after the incident. “We encourage students to make responsible decisions to avoid jeopardizing opportunities to celebrate the successful completion of high school.”
“Seniors, I hope everyone enjoyed the senior picture and grad walks today! We loved seeing you reconnect with many teachers who invested in you to help get you where you are today. The faculty, staff, and administration cares about you and wants you to be able to participate in and enjoy all of the memorable experiences the next month has in store. With that said, please keep in mind that one bad decision, prank, joke, etc.
