The study also revealed which parts of the UK had the worst diets, and the results may surprise you...

A new study of national gut health has revealed which residents in the UK have the healthiest diets. The study, from Audley Villages, discovered that those in the Isles of Scilly are currently the heathiest.

The results found that 52% of people in the Isles of Scilly eat at least the recommended five portions of fruits or vegetables each day – compared to the national average of just 32.5% of people. This makes the Isles of Scilly the best place in England for high consumption of fruit and vegetables. However, their research also shows that, nationally, compared to before the Covid-19 pandemic, fewer people area eating fruit and vegetables regularly. The same survey in 2019 found that 57.8% of people in England were eating the recommended five portions of fruit or vegetables each day – 22.9% higher than today.
