'Stunning' drag queen drops in to pay care home a visit - and stuns residents with beauty regime
Staff and residents at Pendlebrook Care Home in Oswaldtwistle were visited by Drag Queen, Miss Cherri-Ayd. Activity Coordinator at Pendlebrook Care Home, Claire Rothwell, had arranged the visit and was delighted with how the residents had welcomed Cherri.
Claire said: “I had explained to them what a Drag Queen was and asked if they would like a visit from one. They all said yes they would and so I booked Cherri to come along."Often the older generation are set in their ways and don’t like change, but they were delighted to meet Cherri and learn about Pride.
“Cherri came beautifully dressed in full makeup and stunning outfit and explained to everybody what Pride was all about and how she came to be a Drag Queen. “Residents were fascinated by her lovely figure and asked lots of questions about how long Cherri had been performing and how long it took to do her makeup.
“Elsie aged 99 was particularly interested to know if Cherri peeled her face off at night as her makeup was so perfect. Mary aged 93 asked how Cherri managed to walk on her 5 inch high stilettos and did she need to practice.”
