Rows of the spring flowers could be seen overlooking the North Sea
These incredible drone pictures show cliff-top fields of daffodils glowing in the sunlight.
Claire Dyce, 27, from Grampian Growers, said the bulbs are planted in August or September but are not picked until they have been in the ground for two years. The daffodils bloom in March just in time for Mother's Day and Easter - the two most popular times for the flowers. "We usually want to have a cold February and then start to get a bit of growing in March when we will start picking for six to eight weeks. The bulbs get planted in August or September and then flower in the spring.
But Claire said it has been a difficult year for growers who normally pick six million bunches of the flowers. She said sales have been cut in half as farmers struggle to compete with producers down south who store the flowers for up to four weeks.
