The HBO series, which aired first in 2018,revolves around the powerful Roy family, owner of media conglomerate Waystar RoyCo. With patriarch Logan Roy's health on the decline, his four children fight for control over their father's company.
The series has received more than 50 nominations and over 27 awards, including the British Academy Television Award for Best International Programme, Golden Globe for Best Television Series, and the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series., series creator Jesse Armstrong said he never thought the show could go on forever.
"The end has always been kind of present in my mind. From Season 2, I’ve been trying to think: Is it the next one, or the one after that, or is it the one after that?" Armstrong is quoted as saying.
"Or we could do something a bit more muscular and complete, and go out sort of strong," Armstrong is quoted as saying."And that was definitely always my preference."'s Rebecca Mead likened a television series ending to reading a book, Armstrong is hoping for"I hope that no one ever thinks that we are outstaying our welcome," he is quoted as saying.
"I hope those concerns never occur to people," he added."I know they do when I’m watching other people’s shows, even ones I admire and like."
