Evacuees of 58 nationalities are arriving in Jeddah in Saudi Arabia after being rescued from Sudan. Latest: 📺 Sky 501, Virgin 602, Freeview 233 and YouTube

AP is reporting that 1687 evacuees of 58 nationalities have arrived at the king Faisal base in Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. Among them 46 Americans, 40 British, 11 Germans , 4 French and 13 Saudis, 560 Indonesian, 239 Yemenis and 26 Turks plus other nationalities. The evacuation of UK nationals is"inherently dangerous" as it remains unclear how long the ceasefire will hold, the foreign secretary has said.

He added:"If the Spanish or the Italians or anyone else wants to fly, we'll be the ones giving permissions effectively." "It was so terrifying. The sounds kept getting louder and it was as if they were right outside the dorm."She said:"As we were driving, the actual main road was closed because there were so many tanks."

Now, the US has said it is pressing to extend the truce, seeking to form an international committee to oversee negotiations. Iman Abugarja said the guilt was"unbearable" after she was forced to leave her sick father and elderly mother. He said the alternative is a"dangerous" military operation that involves deploying a large number of British soldiers into an unknown city to find people, which would"go on for a very long time".
