Mining leaders and technical experts coming together to look at ways to ensure mining can adapt to significant technological and cultural changes

Sudbury is hosting the Mine Operators and Maintenance Engineers conference, which is slated to take place September 18 to 21 at Science North, to look at ways to do mining better.

Organizers said the event will zero in "on the interaction between the business of mining and the challenge of adaptability." The event will include a list of speakers and industry experts to comment on new realities affecting the mining industry, said a news release. The conference website contains a list of events, experts and speakers.

Another part of the event will be a trade show happening in the main entrance area and atrium at Science North. Already, more than 40 exhibitors, including mining manufacturers and technical service providers, have signed up for the trade show.
